As the Pittsburgh Chapter of the German-American Chamber of Commerce (GACC PIT), we are directly connected with the German Chambers of Industry and Commerce (IHK), giving us access to over 360 advanced training modules that have been proven in Germany for decades. By adapting the German dual apprenticeship system, we integrate the IHK-defined job-specific competencies into 2.5-year programs specially tailored to the U.S. market and the needs of your industry.

Because our apprenticeship program is highly company-oriented, we take the time to thoroughly understand your business model and the qualifications your employees need. Based on this, we customize the training content to ensure a tailored qualification. Your apprentices gain practical on-the-job experience alongside theoretical training, putting them a decisive step ahead of the competition.

All our apprenticeship programs are registered with the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and recognized by the Pennsylvania Apprenticeship and Training Council as well as the Federal Committee on Apprenticeship. This authorizes the GACC Pittsburgh Chapter to issue official “Journeyworker Papers” upon successful completion.

A unique feature is our nationwide only apprenticeship program for the EV Automotive Technician.

Additionally, we maintain close contacts with the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry as well as regional Workforce Development Boards and continuously seek funding opportunities to minimize company investments. Funding can help cover both tuition fees and apprentices’ wages.
